NDT Method — RT
Radiographic Testing
Permanent volumetric records of weld integrity.
Radiographic testing (RT) uses penetrating radiation — X-rays or gamma rays — to produce a shadowgraph image of a weld or component. Density variations in the image reveal internal flaws such as porosity, slag inclusions, lack of fusion, cracks, and incomplete penetration that are invisible on the surface.
Arc Inspection Services utilizes both conventional film radiography and computed radiography (CR) / digital radiography (DR) systems. Film radiography produces high-resolution images and is the preferred method for many code applications. Digital systems offer faster turnaround, lower radiation exposure times, and immediate image review in the field.
Our radiographers hold ASNT Level II and Level III certifications and are licensed industrial radiographers with the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS). We maintain strict radiation safety protocols on every project and operate within all applicable regulatory requirements.
